BARLINALE GOES GLOBAL!

February 7, 2026: Barlinale was invited to host an evening at the one and only Cinema Nova in Brussels, Belgium. We shared a selection of shorts from our inaugural edition, including: Landscape Suspended by Naghmeh Abbasi; Sycamore Dreams by Margarita Maximova; silver beer winner, The Hollow by Bretta C. Walker and Jean-Jacques Martinod; and Golden Beer winner, Abajo y a la Izquierda (Below and to the Left) by Martín Baus.

Each of the four filmmakers received a 50 Euro screening fee for their participation. The screening which had 190 people in attendance (!) was followed by a talk about film festivals in the bar. Prior to the event, we visited Radio Kiosk to play some tracks from the films screened at the first edition of the festival. The full set is available to listen here.
